Beautiful stoneware mugs declining shades of beige, terracotta and brown slightly mottled glaze. The glaze is semi-gloss. They were designed by master potter Pierre Legault in the 1970's and are signed P.L. Sial 2 Canada. They are now quite rare while very convenient to drink a fresh beer or a large hot coffee. A collectible.
Pierre Legault (1929-1983) was a pioneer of modern pottery in Quebec. He was the cofounder of SIAL and SIAL2 companies (1974 - 1981) where he created designs and stoneware dinnerware patterns.
